After you’ve mastered the basics of using a Trezor hardware wallet, there are several advanced tips and best practices that will help you get even more out of your device—and keep your crypto assets safer than ever. 1. Enable Passphrase Encryption

Beyond the standard PIN and recovery seed, Trezor offers an optional passphrase feature that adds a “25th word” to your seed. This extra word can be anything you choose—ideally a long, memorable phrase. Whenever you enter that passphrase, a completely new wallet is unlocked, hidden from your “main” wallet. Even if someone finds your recovery seed and PIN, they can’t access funds stored under your passphrase. Important: memorize or securely store your passphrase; losing it is equivalent to losing access to those hidden funds.

2. Keep Firmware Up to Date

Trezor regularly releases firmware updates that patch vulnerabilities, add support for new coins, and improve features. Always check the Trezor Suite dashboard for update prompts—don’t ignore them. To update:

1. Connect your Trezor and open Trezor Suite.
